Chuppah Artist · San Leandro, California · Est. 1993
Some artists find their medium. Carol Attia found her calling. For over 30 years, she has devoted herself to a singular art form — one that exists for a single, perfect moment: the ceremony beneath the chuppah.
Carol founded Under The Chuppah in 1993 in San Leandro, California, driven by a deep reverence for Jewish tradition and a passion for creating beauty that carries meaning. What began as a personal vision grew into one of the Bay Area’s most beloved chuppah studios, now serving couples across all 50 states.
Each chuppah Carol creates is a collaboration. She listens closely to every couple — their story, their aesthetic, their values — and translates that into a structure of extraordinary beauty. No two chuppahs are ever exactly alike.
Carol personally handles every detail for Bay Area ceremonies: delivery, setup, and dismantling. For couples nationwide, she ships with complete care instructions and offers guidance throughout. Her dedication doesn’t end at the design table — it extends to every moment of your ceremony day.
Every detail is intentional. Every chuppah is personal.
Carol begins every relationship with listening. She takes time to understand your vision, your venue, your traditions — and your love story. The result is a chuppah that feels unmistakably yours.
Every element is selected and assembled with meticulous care. From the structural frame to the softest fabric draping, Carol’s hands-on approach ensures a result of extraordinary quality.
For Bay Area ceremonies, Carol personally delivers, sets up, and dismantles every chuppah. You focus on your day — she handles every detail with professionalism and grace.
Sacred beauty transcends any single faith or culture.
While Carol’s roots are deeply embedded in Jewish tradition — she understands the chuppah’s sacred role as a first home, a place of blessing, a threshold of new life — she warmly welcomes couples of all backgrounds. Interfaith, multicultural, Hindu, and non-denominational ceremonies are equally honored and celebrated.
Her Mandap is specially crafted for Indian and South Asian ceremonies, featuring the rich fabrics, marigold garlands, and ornate details that make these celebrations so profoundly beautiful.
Carol would love to hear about your wedding and your vision. Every consultation begins with a simple conversation.
